175th Battalion CEF

The 175th battalion was recruited in the Medicine Hat district, and mobilized in Medicine Hat, Alberta, with a strength of 30 officers and 847 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 4 October, 1916, on the troop ship Saxonia, and disembarked in the UK on 13 October. 

174th Battalion CEF

The 174th battalion was recruited in Manitoba, and for a brief period of time, western Saskatchewan and Alberta, and was mobilized in Winnipeg, with a strength of 14 officers and 275 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 29 April, 1917, on the troop ship Olympic, and disembarked in the UK on 7 May. 

173rd Battalion CEF

The 173rd battalion was recruited and mobilized in Hamilton, Ontario, with a strength of 32 officers and 930 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 14 November, 1916, on the troop ship Olympic, and disembarked in the UK on 20 November.

172nd Battalion CEF

The 172nd battalion was recruited in the Kamloops district and mobilized in Kamloops, British Columbia, with a strength of 31 officers and 972 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 25 October, 1916, on the troop ship Mauritania, and disembarked in the UK on 31 October. 

171st Battalion CEF

The 171st Battalion was recruited in the eastern townships of Quebec, and mobilized in Quebec City, with a strength of 27 officers and 575 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 24 November, 1916, on the troop ship Mauritania, and disembarked in the UK on 30 November. 

170th Battalion CEF

The 170th battalion was recruited and mobilized in Toronto, Ontario, with a strength of 30 officers and 866 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 25 October, 1916, on the troop ship Mauritania, and disembarked in the UK on 31 October.

169th Battalion CEF

The 169th battalion was recruited and mobilized in Toronto, Ontario, with a strength of 32 officers and 887 other ranks. The first draft of the battalion embarked from Halifax on 18 October, 1916, on the troop ship Metagama, and disembarked in the UK on 28 October. The second draft embarked from Halifax on 26 October, 1916, on the troop ship Corsican, and disembarked in the UK on 5 November. 

168th Battalion CEF

the 168th battalion was recruited in Oxford county, and mobilized in Woodstock, Ontario, with a strength of 26 officers and 688 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 1 November, on the troop ship Lapland, and disembarked in the UK on 11 November. 

Le Canada Se Prépare

A humorously illustrated brochure that introduced the newly enlisted, or thinking about being enlisted, to the Canadian ranks on what to expect from early training. The text on the first page translates to "How military training will be done under the National Resources Mobilization Act." 

167th Battalion CEF

The 167th battalion was recruited in the Quebec regions of Lévis, North Shore, Shawinigan Falls, la Tuque and Chicoutimi, and mobilized in Quebec City. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 27 November, 1916 on the troop ship Metagama, and disembarked in the UK on 6 December.
