42nd Battalion CEF

The 42nd battalion was recruited and mobilized in Montreal, Quebec, with a strength of 40 officers and 978 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Montreal on 10 June 1915, on the troop ship Hesperian, and disembarked in the UK on 19 June, and arrived in France on 9 September.

41st Battalion CEF

The 41st battalion was recruited in Ottawa and Quebec, with recruits supplied by 70th Hull, 54th Sherbrooke and 85th Montreal Regiments of Active Militia, and mobilized in Quebec City, Quebec, with a strength of 37 officers and 1082 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Quebec on 18 October 1915, on the troop ship Saxonia, and disembarked in the UK on 29 October.

40th Battalion CEF

The 40th battalion was recruited in Nova Scotia and mobilized in Aldershot, Nova Scotia, with a strength of 40 officers and 1090 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Quebec on 18 October 1915, on the troop ship Saxonia, and disembarked in the UK on 29 October.

39th Battalion CEF

The 39th battalion was recruited in Lindsay, Peterborough, Belleville, Port Hope, Trenton, Picton, Napanee, Kingston and Cobourg and mobilized in Belleville, Ontario, with a strength of 40 officers and 1003 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Montreal on 24 June 1915, on the troop ship Missanabie, and disembarked in the UK on 3 July. 

38th Battalion CEF

The 38th battalion was recruited in Ottawa and district (Brockville, Perth, Prescott and Alexandria) and mobilized in Ottawa, Ontario, with a strength of 35 officers and  1001 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Montreal on 1 August 1915, on the troop ship Caledonian, and disembarked in Bermuda on 12 August. The battalion embarked from Bermuda on 30 May 1916, on the troop ship Grampian, and disembarked in France on 13 August.

37th Battalion CEF

The 37th battalion was recruited in Niagara Falls, Aurora, Milton, Parry Sound, Owen Sound, Whitby, Barrie, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, Toronto, Cobalt, Haileybury, and North Bay and mobilized in Niagara, Ontario, with a strength of 40 officers and 104 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 27 November 1915, on the troop ship Lapland, and disembarked in the UK on 5 December.

36th Battalion CEF

The 36th battalion was recruited in n Hamilton, St. Catharines, Brampton, Brantford, Niagara Falls, Dundas, Simcoe and York County and mobilized in Hamilton, Ontario, with a strength of 39 officers and 1004 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Montreal on 19 June 1915, on the troop ship Corsican, and disembarked in the UK on 29 June.

35th Battalion CEF

The 35th battalion was recruited in Toronto, Barrie and Aurora and mobilized in Toronto, Ontario, with a strength of 41 officers and 115 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Montreal on 16 October 1915, on the troop ship Metagama, and disembarked in the UK on 25 October.

34th Battalion CEF

The 34th battalion was recruited in Guelph, Woodstock, Galt and Stratford and mobilized in Guelph, Ontario, with a strength of 41 officers and 1103 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Quebec on 23 October 1915, on the troop ship California, and disembarked in the UK on 1 November.

33rd Battalion CEF

The 33rd battalion was recruited in London, Windsor, Chatham, St. Thomas, Strathroy, Goderich and mobilized in London, Ontario, with a strength of 40 officers and 946 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 17 March 1916, on the troop ship Lapland, and disembarked in the UK on 26 March.
