4th Battalion CEF
The 4th battalion was organized in Camp Valcartier and composed of recruits from Aurora, Brampton, Brantford, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls, Ontario with a strength of 44 officers and 1121 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Quebec City on 23 September 1914, on the troop ship Tyrolia, and disembarked in the UK on 14 October, and arrived in France on 11 February 1915.
