76th Battalion CEF

The 76th battalion was recruited in Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Milton, Parry Sound, Owen Sound, Brantford, Simcoe, Sudbury, Dundas, Sault Ste Marie, Orillia, Collingwood, Whitby and Barrie and mobilized at Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario, with a strength of 36 officers and 1006 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 25 April, on the Empress of Britain, and disembarked in the UK on 5 May.
