255th Battalion CEF

The 255th battalion was recruited in Toronto, east of Roncesvalles Avenue and south of Bloor Street, and mobilized in Toronto, Ontario, with a strength of 13 officers and 248 other ranks. The battalion embarked from Halifax on 2 June 1917, on the troop ship Olympic, and disembarked in the UK on 9 June. The battalion was absorbed by the 12th Canadian Reserve Battalion on 9 June.
